Limestone is a term used to describe the aggregate of magnesium and calcium, its chemical definition is CaCO3. Therefore, the more minerals water contains, the higher its hardness will be.
The natural form of limestone is called aragonite, a microparticle (1 to 5 microns) that is inert and non-encrusting.
Unlike calcite (50 to 70 microns), which is a crystallized and encrusting form of limestone, the latter is often present when water is depleted by its natural flow (gullies, waterfalls, meanders), so unfortunately it is often this form that we find in our pipes.

This system captures calcium/magnesium ions using resin integrated into the tank and releases sodium (salt) ions to soften the water. In other words, your raw water, which is basically mineral water, will be demineralized by the salt softener (by law, it must be set between 9°F and 13°F), which is how softened water is obtained.
N.B.: Despite the chemical softening process, the residual limestone particles remain calcite (encrusting form).
This system will preserve 100% of the mineral content of your water because there is no chemical or filtration process when the water passes through the system. Its job is to energize the water through the vortex phenomenon and break down the calcium carbonate in the calcite and aragonite.
Note: Aragonite is a fine form of mineral that is much easier for water to absorb, so don't worry about having hard water at home.
