What is limestone?
The minerals calcium and magnesium form limestone (CaCO3), which comes in several forms: calcite, which is the crystallized, encrusting form of limestone, and aragonite, which is a powdery, inert form.
Do you need a vortex H2O zero anti-scale system if your water has low hardness?
Water already has a solvation capacity, enabling it to dissolve the mineral particles it contains, but unfortunately, as soon as its hardness exceeds 13° French (medium soft water), the latter becomes charged and is no longer sufficient to dissociate or reduce the particles, which is why limescale formation will very quickly show signs of scaling, pronounced white residual traces and crystallization around household and sanitary appliances.
How to measure the hardness of my water
The hardness of your water is measured using a chemical reagent or an electronic device to precisely define the hardness of your water, defined by its hydrotimetric titre (TH of water). The more concentrated its mineral content, the higher the level of limescale.
Depending on the country, you may find a different unit of measurement to calculate water hardness. In Switzerland, it's the French degree (ex: 20°f or 20° French). Some countries use the German degree (dGH), the Clarks degree (°E) or the ppm (Parts Per Millions). Caution, not to be confused with the PH of water (hydrogen potential), whose unit of measurement is between 1 and 14, making it possible to define acid or alkaline water (the average rate for drinking water is 7.4).
How can I feel the effectiveness of vortex H2O zero anti-scale?
After installation, you'll feel the first effects of the water: its texture is transformed and it becomes softer, smoother and lighter to drink. On the body, your skin will dry out much less.
The minerals stored in the water are transformed into aragonite. Depending on the hardness of your water, you may find slight residues, but they are not encrusting and are very easy to remove.
